98 Druid Street/ 1 Rope Walk Arch

In August 2009 we moved our maturing rooms to a railway arch in Bermondsey.  Maltby and Druid Streets are home to a long row of Victorian railway arches built below the main line between London Bridge and Dover. The cool, damp brickwork provides ideal storage conditions for our Parmesan, buffalo mozzarella and charcuterie. We share the arch with William Oglethorpe of Kappacasein, who makes Bermondsey Fryer cheese in his custom built dairy, and brewer Evin O’Riordain who makes award winning beers as the Kernel Brewery. In 2010 we started opening our doors for retail every Saturday morning. This trend has spread and we are now sandwiched between some of London’s finest purveyors of food and drink.

Our arch is just around the corner from the Monmouth Coffee arches on Maltby Street, open on Saturdays for coffee and pastries. Then there’s the St John Bakery, Tony Booth’s fruit and veg and the Gergovie Wines warehouse. And that’s just to the east of us.

Head west for Neal’s Yard Dairy, Fern Verrow, Hophurst Farm organic butchers and plenty of others. Our little community is always growing so check the Maltby Street website for the full list.
